You know..these parents act like the world revolves around them.
I've seen parents use up sick days because they have a sick kid, not because they themselves are sick. This is a total abuse of what sick days are meant for.
But I call in sick and I get read the riot act by the assignment desk. If it's a parent, it's fine but if it's a single, it's not.
And the notion that we do the work left behind by parents who have to leave. What crap.
In short, the idea that YOUR time is more valuable than mine because you have kids, is debasing, insulting and narcisscistic.
So get over yourself. I'm not paying for the fact that you decided to pop out a rugrat. |

You have to decide if you want to "live to work" or "work to live". I can't help but think that all of the people complaining are mostly young/single/new-to-the-business. For you I have one piece of advice -- don't make this business (or any business for that matter) the center of your life. It's not worth it. Your 20 years of 12-hour-a-day service will get you nothing in the end. So what if others are operating under a different set of rules? Worry about yourself, and more importantly -- get yourself a life outside of work before your apparent bitterness begins to really harden your heart.
