it's still selling news.
it's still bad TV.
It still stinks.
and so are KEYE's ratings.
Thurs KEYE's 6pm had a 2 rating w/ four mins of hawking "Salt Lick Northwest Austin" You didn't even get the name right. It's "Salt Lick 360".
Viewers don't want this crap.
As far as I am concerned, keep doing it.
Silly games like this BBQ Battle that will keep KEYE in 5th place at 6PM.
But sadly these antics end up reflecting poorly on the entire market and the profession.
BTW- I hope YOUR fact gathering is more accurate.
Where do you get "diminshing product" or "unhappy employees" at KVUE.
KVUE is holding it's numbers and winning both newscasts and awards.
When KVUE has an opening, the first wave of applicants are from within the market.
Jobs haven't even been posted yet, and the phone is ringing from folks across the street asking if they'd be considered for the job.
Trust me, people are clamoring to get out of KEYE, unless they one of the chosen few who are getting fat paychecks at the expense of the rest of the staff.

jeez, then I guess all of those KVUE people who tell me how unhappy they are over there are just making idle conversation. I can think of at least 4 behind the scenes folks at KVUE who have applied at KEYE within the past year.
If you don't think A LOT of folks are unhappy at KVUE then you are living in cloud cuckoo land. Wake up and smell the discontent
And yes -- diminishing product. KVUE is nowhere near the dominant force it once was -- even you admit that 24 is flat or down at 6 & 10.
But what is still alive and well is the KVUE smugness. Well, keep fiddling while Rome burns, Ray. I smell a WFAA-like fall in KVUE's future. I ain't predicting who will be ahead of whom. All I"M saying is "as far as I'm concerned keep doing it."
