My colleagues in the field appreciate that.
To krivchick, weekends are tricky because of the extreme imbalance. Virtually no one watches TV on Saturday night, hence repeat programming in primetime, while practically everyone's at home on Sunday night, which is why programmers focus on that night so much (as well as Thursdays because it precedes the weekend and is a good platform for advertisers, especially movie advertisers).
With those extremes, that's why I chose the Monday through Friday numbers. The audience is more consistent through those days. Stations have the right to factor in weekends, but are not required. That's why Nielsen sheets break them up. There was one sweeps period I recall where 13 won the 10pm Monday to Friday but not the weekend, so they sold that to advertisers.
You can't factor out a Monday night and sell that(with the exception of Monday Night Football in the fall). Some stations try to reconfigure the numbers, but ad groups get the same rating sheets, so they see through it.
I don't think I've ever seen a post this long about my hometown. Awesome!
