It's fun watching the local stations bicker over numbers that continue to dwindle. There is a silent giant that is being ignored. National cable stations and their 24 hour affiliates, like channel 8. Ever check out their numbers? They're growing fast and often times beating the local network news. Ask your ND why you don't see those #'s. Ch. 8 is just behind ch. 24 in the awards category. Do your homework and wake up. People want depth in their news, not team coverage of crappy vosots. |

News 8, like the other TW ops, is a CHEAP imitation of the real news channels. They hire underqualified staff that don't have the experience or skills to get hired at the affiliates, pay them a fraction of what the others get, and force them to one-man-band and pass that cheap way of doing the news as a "VJ."
Just look at News 8's product. It's not even in the same league. 5 minute packages on a neighborhood litter campaign do not make good TV. And isn't it funny how a 24-hour news channel is often the LAST to get breaking news, or even general assignment packages, on the air -- sometimes hours after the network affiliates.
Go back to Mkt 150, News-8. You're not ready to play in the bigs.
