I can't stand when people who work primarily in the newsroom have no idea what goes on in the field and what it takes to set up a shot and get to a location. They think it takes 5 minutes no matter where you are in the county or outer counties. They think putting together a pkg takes an hour...which it can depending on the situation, but they forget about editing and logging and everything else that surrounds putting a piece together. Some people actually care about how their piece turns out...not everything is just slammed together. I wish they could be in our shoes for just one day. Thanks for letting me vent. |

You have hit a nerve with me. As an engineer who sets up LIVES, I would like to see producers learn first hand what is required to do a simple live shot. The people that I deal with on a daily basis, know very little beyond the crt that sits in front of them.
