OK-- first we'll call the act that dirties up the sky's the "Clean Air Initiative" and then we'll call the initiative to chop down all the trees, "The Healthy Forests Initiative." Fine, smart people know to look past the double-speak. Stupid people do not, fine, whatever. I guess we can live without clean skies and forests.
Then the architect of the biggest non-"slam-dunk" in our country's history, Mr. Tenant, gets awarded the highest civilian medal for his incredibly heroic role in providing the leadership and foresight overseeing our intelligence agency on its march to war a few weeks after resigning in what rational, non-idiots considered, shame.
Now the Washington Post is reporting that the specific intelligence analysts who were the ones personally responsible for some of the incorrect intelligence (there's lots of it to go around) about Saddam's tubes that they called were to be used for nuclear development were actually rocket tubes (something they could have easily confirmed by contacting the AEC) and they have received performance bonuses for the last three years running.
In the new America, the bigger you lie and screw up the more you're loved and appreciated by this gov't. The more egregious your treachery and deceit, the more magnificent the reward.
This could only happen in a country full of idiots. I swear, when is the media going to start putting some of the blame for this mess where it should rest, on the morons who are the voting public in this country. We get what we deserve. |
