I am no fan of the competition but I am shaking my head at your statement as follows:
" Consider this --- excluding weekends, KHOU won 9 days, KTRK won 7 and KPRC won 3, and KRPC was only a few tenths of a point behind KTRK. That's a problem."
If i follow your example and take away channel 13's weekends it gives KTRK 7 wins.. right? but if i also take away monday nights as well (KHOU CSI nights) it gives ktrk 7 wins and KHOU 5 wins? RIght? By my count, KTRK comes out the winner.
by your own logic, KHOU is the station with the problem, not KTRK.
You need to re-examine your argument. You can't argue weekends don't count and not argue monday's don't count as well.
