It's unbelievable. When KHOU won every newscast in February, McDaniels didn't do a big article or get any comment from anyone but barely wrote a column's worth. No quotes, nothing. You could have missed the thing.(But at least his editor's put the headline "KHOU NEW NEWSLEADER".) Now KHOU wins the 5, 6, and the 10 Monday-Friday (by more than a rating point) and KTRK wins the 10 Monday-Sunday by a hair (and yes it is because of Desperate Housewives) and McDaniels headline says "KTRK REBOUNDS FROM LAST YEAR"?? He must have a nephew working over there, laugh. He says they rebounded with "a less-than-clear-cut win". Well how do you even have a real overall win, as he seems to be implying, if you're losing the most important newscasts and most of them at that? I'm told this obvious bias of Mike's has been going quite awhile and who knows what it's about. |

Tighter writer you are absolutely right. He must have some buddies over at Channel 13. I never really thought he thoroughly covered the local news here anyway.
