why so bitter, and as usual so wrong?
Back up your statement. Show me that KOVR late night NEWS lead ins are up year to year while KCRA's are down.
I'd love to see it, but you won't because you'd be proven WRONG.
You really gonna try to tell me that CBS lead ins are UP 16% and that NBC lead ins are DOWN 26%? Fool, please!
Instead of dealing realistically with the fact that ONE OUT OF FOUR of your nightside viewers are gone year to year, you hurl lame tabloid insults.
Guess the viewers don't care all that much about that "rich history" you keep babbling about. And as I've said before, our 10PM cleaned your 11PM's clock the last two books while pulling off massive year to year gains.
Your 11PM lost November and Februrary while registering massive LOSSES. Look at the late night trending for the last two years, you guys have been losing double digits in nearly every book. You seem to think that's OK, I wonder if Elliot agrees with you, and how long he's going to let the hemoragging continue.
If "Oprah" weren't clutching you to her massive bosom, you're 5 and 6 would probably be in the same dire straits.
In short kcraer, you don't know the numbers, live in denial, and probably sleep with a channel 3 lapel pin stuck to your jammies.
Show me the lead in numbers to justify a 26% year to year nosedive or go back to the romper room. |

KCRA is a staple of Northern California. No matter how much management reams it, it will never die. In the viewers mind, 3 comes first for news. Go talk to people on the street, most I run into couldn't even name you a tv personality other than the ones on 3. The only ones that they ever do are Cristina Mendonsa and Dave Bender (and on occasion Mark S Allen).
So other stations may try their hardest to steal the show, and they might have a little success from time to time, but 3 will always reign as the best in NorCal. AND if you think Viacom coming in is gonna make 13 the number one station in town, seriously think again. I'm sure the numbers will improve, but in the end it won't be the best station (just look at KCBS in LA).
