In Reply To: There are some of us who need to watch the clock when our shows depend on someone being there on time. Why should I have to sweat because some person is too irresponsible to be there when they should? I have a show to do and the clock is not going to wait for any delays. My concerns are not on the back end of the day if I have to stick around late, I often expect that no big deal. It comes with the job and this type of work. I work mornings. I worry about the front end. We have a 5:00 am show and have to deal with the the one on-air guy we have who never hesitates to walk in 90% of the time no less than ten minutes before we go on and jumps in front of the camera. The schedule shows he is suppose to be there by 3:30 am but that never happens. I agree with "toptenmarket" that mangersdon't know but need to. These people put their shows in jeopardy. if they don't want to be their to do their part responsibly then let someone else have the darn job.
Message: 3 points 1. Front End, that sounds alot like my shop. We have a guy who is always late and it leads to problems on the air. Also I think most people dont respect this guy and people dont respect managemnt when they let the problem continue. I guess some people just dont need a paycheck as much as the rest of us. 2. Magicadoola, ok, so people who showed up to work late on 9/11 in lwr Manhattan are still alive. How about if all the fire/police/rescue people had arrived to their jobs late on that day? Quite a few more people would be dead. Mayber you'll show up one day to work, late of course, and the summer intern will be doing your job. 3. You folks who criticize 'clock watchers', are you telling me you aren't watching the clock at the end of your shift?
