I moved up north from an area that didn't see much snow. Here's some tips...always have gloves with you...good, water proof once, because if you're using a handheld, it'll get condensation when you go in and out. Two types of coats..a super warm one layered (columbia makes some that have several kinds of layers you can use for one coat). Get a thermal vest. And as someone else said, find out where the local sledding and skiing places are. It's a bummer to be stuck inside nine-months out of the year...when you live in a place the snow melts within an our, people forget all of the fun things they can do. Oh, and snow melts, which means floors, roads, coats, gloves, everything gets wet and slippery. And, don't forget the moisturizer, especially for your face because cold wind can lead to that reddish burst-capillary look. Have fun!
