So KOVR's 10PM "tanked" huh? Hmmmmmm, let's take a look at the real numbers shall we, keeping in mind that 13 trounced your ass nightside in the first two major books of the year.
First of all, I'll have the class to say what you never would when you got thumped: Congratulations.
That said, let's delve into those nightside numbers you're verbally beating your chest about.
Here's how things panned out in May.
KOVR 10PM
5.9/11:
That's +14% rating and +15% share year to year.
KCRA 11PM
6.8/16%:
that's -26% rating -21% share year to year
KXTV 11PM.
4.5/10%:
that's -19% rating -14% year to year.
Hello, KCRAer: YOU LOST ONE OUT OF EVERY FOUR VIEWERS FROM MAY TO MAY. You're down from a 9.2 to a 6.8.
Your viewership is dropping faster than Paris Hilton's thong at a frat party.
KOVR's late news continues to be the only nighside cast in the market showing anything resembling consistent growth, and yes we did lose audience on some big nights.
But let's not forget the "Judging Amy's" "Country Music Awards" "Daytime Emmys" "Amber and Rob Get Married", and of course the "Amber Frey" debacle.
You now have "Medium" two nights of "Law And Order" and "ER". Plenty of stations would kill for those leads.
Stop your lame attacks on KOVR, acknowledge that your late night product is in perpetual free-fall, and get to work on fixing things instead of resting on your laurels.
Viacom hasn't even done anything yet, except change the logo. Remember, they have the deepest pockets in the business, and they're getting ready to come at you with everything they've got.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it, then put a sock in it, bub.

And I'd like to see a composite of what happens if you were to add KMAX and KOVR's morning #'s vs. KCRA.
