I wasn't there in the 70's but, he is a tall african american guy. If you've seen the movie "Jackie Brown", he looks like the Samuel L. Jackson character that wears cowboy boots.
Don has very poor people skills. He interrupts you all the time. Doesn't listen. Can't look you in the eye. Quick temper. Leaves nasty voice mail messages. Gets upset if he calls you in with very short notice and you can't make it in on time if your stuck in traffic, then threatens to take you off the schedule. Talks behind your back and plots against you. I know, I had people who told me and actually made a phone call in front of me when they had to check back in with him. When I turn my two week notice in, he said fine, I don't need you. I get 10 phone calls a day of people who want to work here and I have 50 tapes on my desk to pic from.
If he is going to KPIX, at what capacity and title? His prot??g?? Don Ford ( who doesn't have nice things to say about Sharp) was the operations manager over at KPIX. Is Ford still there? Ironically, I remember Ford saying to me before KRON was having allot of problems that KRON's photography staff has been reduced by 60% because of one man. Don Sharp! I am sure there are few photographers over at KPIX, who got screwed by Sharp and fire for no reason aren't happy if he is going over there. |
