Perri Peltz has returned home to NewsChannel 4 and has been named co-anchor of ??Live at Five?? with Sue Simmons, it was announced May 26, 2005, by Dan Forman, WNBC??s Station Manager and Senior Vice President of News. In addition to her anchoring duties, Peltz will also continue to file reports on the uplifting and diverse topics and people she has recently been providing to Channel 4 viewers. She replaces Jim Rosenfield on the anchor desk.
??For years, Perri has reported on our neighbors and the stories we care about, bringing a positive and unique spirit to the vibrant area we live in. She will be a great fit with ??Live at Five??s?? philosophy of informing and helping people while having some fun too,?? says Forman.
Peltz joined the NewsChannel 4 team in October 1987, first as a reporter then co-anchor of the weekend editions of ??Today in New York.?? While at NewsChannel 4, Peltz covered a variety of stories ranging from a multi-part series on near death experiences to the Pope??s visit and Mass from Central Park. Following her tenure with NBC4, Peltz went on to Dateline, where she served as a contributor from 1996-1998. She then served as a news correspondent for ABC??s ??20/20?? with Barbara Walters from 1998-2000 and with CNN from 2000 - 2002. Peltz then left CNN to become an independent film producer where she most recently completed a production for A&E dealing with a South Bronx chess team, which went on to become national champions of the United States, and other award winning short films.
Prior to NBC4, Peltz had been medical and general assignment reporter for WGGB-TV, in Springfield, MA. Before that, Peltz was an associate producer for ??PM Magazine??s?? national office. From 1985-1986, Peltz was a reporter for USA Today where she covered San Francisco area stories for the ??Newsline?? section of the paper. She began her career in 1983 as an associate for the Center for Occupational Hazards.
Peltz holds a master??s degree in Public Health from Columbia University and a bachelor??s degree from Brown University.
She serves as a volunteer with the Robin Hood Foundation helping to develop their family volunteer activities. She is also on the board of the Irvington Institute of Medical Research. She resides with her husband Eric Ruttenberg and their three sons Jacob, Noah and Ethan in New York City. |
