I live in sunny CA. It is warm and perfect all the time. But in a few weeks I am taking a job up north where it snows and gets below 32 degress most of the winter.
I've never lived anywhere where it snowed or got cold. What do I need to know to prepare for the drastic change?
If you made the move from a warm climate to cold ... I'd love some advice. |

Layer your clothing! Layers are the most important thing you need to know about living in cold weather! Because even though you freeze your tush off outside, it will be 80 inside the office. (It's just like living in a warm climate -- you sweat buckets outside & freeze inside). Also if you're outdoors reporting, make sure you keep your extremeties warm. If you do that, you'll be less likely to get those chills you just can't shake! Invest in a good warm hat, gloves & most importantly, boots! You'll miss that 70 degree day in November, but you'll be surprised at how quickly you'll adapt to the colder weather.
Good Luck & stay warm!
