If you're anchoring M-F the pay is solid. You can even make a decent living doing weekends. Reporters and photogs don't make dick starting out, but once you've been there a while, they tend to pay you if they like you.
Bottom line, it's a split market so financial opportunities are limited. However, the product is good and it's a great stepping stone to bigger and better things.
Plus it's near NYC, Balt and Philly!!
