Message: Ted's downfall was paying all those bucks for the film library to launch TNT. He was always on the brink, and that took him over. Part of the deal to keep CNN afloat was that he give Time Warner first shot at buying CNN. That was the start of the downfall of CNN. And Reese? He was a huge A-hole in my opinion. He also almost bankrupted the company. Burt Reinhart saved CNN after Reese was gone. Anybody that was there can tell you Burt put the breaks on spending and it was like that for a number of years until the network got back on track money wise. I'll make no secret that I hated Reese for reasons too long to list here. But looking back, he had the right idea on one thing. Reese thought that CNN should be a non-stop news machine. Besides the national and international news of the day, there was always video coming in from the CNN partnership stations. Fires, police busts, car wrecks - you name it. Reese thought that CNN should be constantly reporting news, all over the country. If Reese is pissed, it's little wonder. Looking at CNN today, it blows the mind. Idiot anchors sitting around giving their opinions with happy talk, yell fests like crossfire, and horrible reporting that shows poor understanding of issues. Yes, it's sad.
