If you have a choice, live in Clovis. Less crime, better schools, but it is more expensive. You get what you pay for I guess. Also, some of the small surrounding communities ain't bad either. Just depends which ones. |

WHAT POSITION AND STATION ARE YOU APPLYING FOR? WHAT KIND OF EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE? HAVING BEEN HERE FOR A FEW YEARS, I'D SAY THIS: IF YOU'RE GOOD ENOUGH, KEEP ON LOOKING.
fresno has a less than average talent base. Many people here are very insecure and bad-mouth each other every chance they get but are nice to your face. you won't find much to do. the city looks awful. some of the long time, older anchors join in on the childish trash-talking (they know who they are). on the flip side, there's a lot of hard news, lots of crime, and a heck of a lot of unique stories coming out of fresno. the big cities are just a few hours drive and your next move would be a pretty decent sized market. i'd recommend kfsn as the first choice. ksee is supposed to be #2, but morale is going down there as well. you'll hear most people there groaning and trying to get out. but then again, that makes room for movement. kgpe is a sinking ship and only try kmph if you're straight out of college. lowest pay and lowest quality of work there.
on a positive note, kgpe has nice graphics.
