...at least in TV jobs.
Quit focusing so much of your career on numbers...market numbers or ratings.
You personal and professional life should be judged on what's right for YOU and your family...not on whether it's a bigger or smaller number.
NDs and GMs don't care about numbers. They care about skill and talent, experience and accomplishment.
Please don't make decisions on bigger or smaller numbers. |

First, I know from personal experience, if you have the goods a move down, for almost any reason will not hurt you.
I left (contract not renewed) a job in a 40's market, was left looking for six months and during that time I worked for a market in the 150's. EVERYONE swore I would never be able to get back into a mid market or higher.
They were wrong. The jobs I had to chose from were all in markets 30 or above. Only one was in the mid range, which I ended up taking because of two things 1)climate 2)the job would give me the opportunity to work on what i consider weaknesses in my own reporting skills.
And the people I work with now range from having worked in top 10's at one point to lower 100's and then leaving again for a mid size or top 20 market again. They've been all over the map, so to speak.
I have found that within reason, the only limits are those you put on yourself or those which chance or luck dictates.
