I understand what you're saying, but yes, cuties can get away with just being good looking - at least until they reach 40 or so, sometimes earlier. Is it fair? Absolutely not. But there are many forms of media - websites, newspapers, radio - that place real talent over looks.
Besides, you know what happens to "beautiful people" when they get older..
