In Reply To: Management at WSB-TV Atlanta continues ignoring both old and new evidence which casts serious doubt on the conviction of Wayne Williams. Anchors Monica Kauffman and Richard Belcher continue to lobby management to disregard this evidence and the re-opening of the six DeKalb County cases. Kauffaman and Belcher, long ago, hitched their wagons to the City of Atlanta and the Fulton County District Attorney's Office which prosecuted Williams. But others of us, also at WSB, know how flawed the State's case is against Williams. We know that the truth is buried along with 29 victims.
Message: The Atlanta media aren't the only ones who have ignored new, compelling evidence which casts doubt on the conviction of Wayne Williams. Atlanta's "Fathers" of the Civil Rights Movement have also sold Williams and their city down the tubes. Men such as Andy Young, Julian Bond, John Lewis, Reverend Joseph Lowrey and the late Maynard Jackson. Not once, has any of these "Freedom Fighters" raised their voices in doubt over Williams' conviction and exculpatory evidence released through the Freedom of Information Act. The only Black, Atlanta political and social leader who has had the courage and conviction to speak out and question the police investigation is GA. State Senator Tyrone Brooks.
