I happen to be in the consulting industry, as well as have been in management...and I find your post rather odd. Never have I heard of consultants telling management to hire french/asian women with C cups.
And I know most of the consulting groups.

just because you never heard it putin those terms or haven't used those terms yourself doesn't make it less true. Spend days going over head shots from wanna bee actors turned news people and you have to boil it down to something concrete to wee thru the stacks.
The industry has changed a lot in the last 10 ears alone. We were fielding calls from agents who had talent that needed jobs. some had played news people and those tapes were sent along with the head shot.
When news became infotainment all credibility was lost. One of the consulting groups had a former casting director on staff to help pick talent.
I have worked with very good, old school, journalsists who were teamed with very young, good looking talent with no experience. There is no reason to put a 19 year old on the anchor desk but it is done (we did it in a top 25 market, it was her first job). But that is what the industry has come to.
Check your local talent and see how much experience your young reporters have had ... 2? 3? years of experience?
As long as the look is there .. you are good to go. Talent not needed. Will train.
And peopl wonder what is wrong with news today. Hmmmmm.
