In Reply To: Christine Nubla is now the anchor of the weekday morning sports news program "Sports Rise" on Sacramento-based regional sports network Comcast SportsNet West. "Sports Rise" is produced from a TV studio at the Wachovia Center arena in Philadelphia. The same TV studio is used to produce "Sports Rise" and "Sports Nite" for Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia. Comcast SportsNet West is master-controlled from the Denver Tech Center in Englewood, Colorado (in the building formerly known as TCI/AT&T Headend in The Sky). Nubla is already ripping the Bay Area and Northern California on the air. She called the Oakland Coliseum "The Five and Dime" on Monday's show, and she refer to the California State Capitol as "Sac" on Tuesday's show. The only show Comcast SportsNet West originates from a Sacramento studio is Comcast SportsNet Insider. Everything else is either produced in Philadelphia (Sports Rise, Out of Bounds), remotely (i.e. Sacramento Kings and Monarchs basketball, UC Davis and Sac State sports, Sacramento RiverCats baseball) or are produced out of house by independent producers (i.e. "Altamont Speed Week", "Southern California Poker Tour", "The Business of Sports" from Rogers SportsNet in Toronto, etc.) Comcast SportsNet West currently has the look and feel of a crappy local access channel (on par with Atlanta-based Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast and Detroit-based Comcast Local). It isn't even close in terms of quality to the other Comcast SportsNets (Philadelphia, Mid-Atlantic, Chicago). Comcast has already blown Cablevision out of the regional sports network business in Philadelphia and Chicago. Comcast Sportsnet West will eventually attempt to put Cablevision's FSN Bay Area out of business.
