those guys have even more awards.
neither is a factor anymore.
yes..people in our business still talk about him. yes he won some awards years ago
yes he has a job.
but I think you both have pretty low standards of thats all it takes to remain a significant factor in our business.
here's my argument.
his work has become a characature of what it was.
his audience has largely withered.
he doesnt win those awards anymore
no one outside the business talks about him anymore
he doesn't break stories or news anymore. he bloviates. |

Geraldo is anything but a journalist...He is a shameless self-promoter. He has consistently used others' work as his own, and fabricated situations like at the Gary Gilmore execution when he acted like the shooting had taken place right before the camera came to him, when it was actually several minutes before. A real journalist would report the truth, not try to over-dramatize an event to build their own image. The fact that he did Al Capone's vault shows he is more of a showman than newsman. He even wrote a book about his own love life. It's all about Geraldo. He's done well, good for him. Let's not try to make him something he isn't.
