Local people meters measure demographics overnight. Instead of getting just the household numbers overnight, stations will know how many women 25-54 or men 18-34 or whatever watched the day before. The top five markets have already switched to LPMs. In the traditional metered markets, local demographics are still compiled from diaries, which are tallied up for the Feb, Nov, May and July books. I'm not sure but I think the LPM markets compile monthly books. (Anyone know for sure?) So, March will be as important as May. The new system has really changed things for some stations. |

The LPM will be daily. The sample size will be much larger (50 percent)and the information will be much richer and much more detailed. So I think it will change things dramatically.
