It's also expensive at 2 million an episode. Unfortunate - because the boxing is incredible. But this show does need to be trimmed. There's too much unnecessary, manufactured drama - when there's already so much real-life drama in the boxer's lives. It's a great reality show - only hurt when it follows Hollywood's formula of "reality." Eliminate the competitions and just make it a straight, 16-man tournament. Draw straws, flip coins... whatever. Less talk, more boxing. Maybe 2 fights per half-hour. |

The reason it's such a great show is you get to know and care for the contestants. If you just make it about boxing, even fewer people will watch. I wouldn't change a thing and I'm sorry NBC isn't giving it another season to find an audience. I even like the cheesy walk-in shots of Sly and Suger Ray -- they're the real superstars, after all.
