Topic Name: The Contender Message Name: cancellation a dumb move Date Posted: 05/24/2005 In Reply To: The Contender will absolutely win a few Emmy's. It's edited SO well.. and the music elevates your heart rate. Just about anything that Mark Burnett has been a part of.. works. Maybe another network will pick up a second season. The only thing I would change if there was a second season.. is the predictable shots of Ray Leonard and Sly Stallone. A reality show is supposed to look loose and free flowing. But when they set up Ray and Sly walking in.. it just looks so staged. Kind of like in the Apprentice when the contestants are all lined up like a wedding party with their torsos turned. Bring back another season. I think if people gave it a shot.. they'd really love it. Message: if they gave this show a real chance it would gather a loyal following
