In Reply To: Accepting money from someone like Soros leaves a bad impression; especially when the program presents his talking points, verbatim. There is another side to this. Reporting on crime in my city, it is appalling how may murders go unsolved. That is much more of a problem than a handful of wrongly accused. I have to look into the eyes of heartbroken relatives following a murder or abduction and revisit them for "follow-up" stories year after year if it is unsolved or when the murderer is released. If they had an ounce of justice they could become vibrant human beings again. The people I have seen, even many years later, are broken; they merely "go through the motions" of life. This was not discussed in the documentary because it does not fit with Soros' view of "alternatives" to incarceration...even though the average sentence served for murder is only 10 years! At worst, the documentary was "pay for play"... at best, it is sloppy journalism
Message: 1. They didn't accept money from Soros or "someone like" him. 2. It's never an either/or. Having people in jail who are wrongly accused is utterly irrelevant to the issue of whether there are unsolved crimes. Even a right wing moron knows you don't "solve" a crime by putitng someone in jail who is innocent. 3. Why would unsolved crimes be part of a documentary that isn't about unsolved crimes? You're a reporter? I hope it's someplace like Fargo ND... because your analytical skills aren't strong enough for a bigger market...and, come to think of it, that's probably an insult to the people of Fargo.
