There is an article in the WSJ this morning that says the kid's whereabouts goes unexplained.
It also says the next season will expand on the Chinese plot that started recently. |

That was the kid's name. Navi was his father.
As for Tony, we'll find out his fate tonight, but it's never good when someone gets postive news on "24" (such as his reconciliation with Michelle)...
Carlos Bernard has spent the entire season as a "guest star", but that was probably to keep his appearance in Season 4 a surprise.
It does bode well that "24" has been picked up for another two seasons... "Tony Almeida" has been a central character... but the producers have never shied away from change.
