In order to move up you basically have to be a superstar AP to move up. Management won't move you unless they think your ready. Work your ass off all the time, do things you not even asked to do and don't gossip! Always be cheery-- Even if your dog died. I started as a News assistant, soon became AP and now I have my own show all in two years and in a top 30 market. I worked hard every day, did shifts that were unheard of and never complained. Also If you want to move up it's a good idea to meet with managers to make sure your on track so when that position does open you know your ready and so do they. It really works. |
