The problem with most of these posts is that they are emotive rather than cerebral, then add the childish bickering. This is simple business. Anyone who works in marketing understands these principles.
Number one: Carrie WILL have a huge country music career. No one ever said anything about cross over to pop. It's irrelevant. So your point is moot.
Number two: Clarkson had little stage presence at the beginning, as with Clay. Presence comes with experience and confidence, and Simon knows it. Carrie will naturally develop that. Remember, that type of "attitude" is urban. Carrie is from an OK farm. It does not negate the superior quality of her voice. Plus, she plays very well in middle America.
Number three: From strictly a marketing standpoint -- there is a VERY small target audience for Bo. Yes, he may win the popularity contest of AI, but he will go the way of Rueben.
Neither Bo nor Carrie were ever in the bottom three, so we have no way of knowing which has been consistantly pulling the MOST votes. We will see next week. And for the record, I love Idol and its spirit of competition, which, ironically, Americans love. |

Bo was in the bottom three a few weeks ago - just once. Carrie was not - and as a CArrie fan - I can say she did deserve to be a few times. That shows her fan base.
And Newsfreakie - Carrie is sweet and funny and if she wins, the marketing mavens in Hollywood will coach her to stardom in the country music world....and remember - she is only 22 and it is only a TV show
