the precedent was set by CBS/ViaCom when the cbs o&o in austin fired their main sports guy because an F-bomb laced outake in taped segment he cut for the morning show accidentally made air.
poor robert flores lost his job after saying it on a tape that shoud have never made air.
if a reporter says it live, they had no choice it would be hypocritical, and open the door to a suit by flores.

But didn't take it. He wasn't escorted out...rumor has it he wasn't allowed back in.
No surprise about Stone, though. She was from the previous administration... and hadn't made it as a feature reporter, so they switched her to hard news, at which she was mediocre at best.
