I can't stand idiots who try to ruin live shots. Sure it's public property, but it's also a matter of courtesy.
One thought is to have a plan with your reporter or cameraperson. If it looks like some jerks are going to interfere, just push in as tight as you can to the reporter, or, if possible, the reporter can move to a nearby wall. Have a signal worked out in advance.
A nice live shot background is hardly worth it if there are people distracting from the story. |
