Did anyone see this? The Assistant ND has resigned... Things just keep getting bad for WGCL. Is this good or bad for the newsroom? Is Rick E. really that bad? Who will htey bring in to replace Nancy?
Nancy Nydam has suddenly "resigned" as assistant news director at Atlanta's Meredith-owned WGCL-46-CBS.
This is not the first time the brusque news manager has stomped out. Four years ago, June 2001, Nydam suddenly quit as news director of Boston's WHDH-7-NBC.
After a year on the beach, she was hired as assistant news director at Baltimore's Scripps-owned WMAR-2-ABC, which "did not go well."
Her brief term in Atlanta under WGCL News Director Rick Erbach, according to insiders, "generated daily fireworks and bruised egos."

She actually had a vision of what a great news product should be, that's why she clashed with 'GCL managers.
