is in contraction. With the digital switchover less than two years away,problem companies are trying to get in the black by then. Meredith (and others)has come to the reality that it needs to at least break even in the broadcast division. Meredith management did not do their homework before purchasing their Atlanta property five years ago and some say they overpaid by twice what it was worth. They're so upside down they can't get rid of it without taking a huge loss. Consequently the whole group suffers as they try to break even. |

worked for Meredith for 12 years. Good, solid, stable company with very deep roots in publication and printing. They may not appreciate the broadcast side as much as some would like. Very slow, determined and conservative, but also very employee friendly regardless of what some posts would have you believe.
