Maybe I was bashing others on here...but after a couple days of reading this board I've figured the only way people will reply seriously and without sarcasm is to have an attitude yourself....the egos and bad attitudes on this board are ridiculous...It's apparent you can't really learn anything on here so why even try...So if you can't beat 'em join 'em...now I'll just be a b***h like everyone else on here. |

Never did watch much TV news. It has always been more mature audiences who have more at stake in a community, with jobs, housing, school, etc. When TV news decided it wanted younger demos, they started pulling the crap we see now. Accidents, fires, sex stories, celebrities...Which is also easier and cheaper to produce. The problem is we have gotten the lowest common denominator. When was the last time any air talent has been recognized anywhere besides a Walmart of bowling alley. Nothing wrong with that, I love those people, but we really need to get the professional segment back in the fold. Those people have lots of disposable income and you would think that wouldn't be lost on the sales dept. The problem is also perpetuated by incompetent management that rises through the ranks of producer and assignment editor, and not from reporters and anchors who know what real news is in the first place.
