as to his uninspired work.. is there any truth to the rumor he and laura don't get along? maybe he just can't hide his displeasure anymore if it is true...just a question...
and from some of your posts it appears you might have some inside knowledge, so i was just curious... magers seems to be solid, but having been in places where there is tension... it can eventually where you down |

Paul was well liked in Minnesota and top dog in the market. He got along with Diana Pierce and Pat Miles, his main co-anchors in Minneapolis. And SD Randy Shaver was a good friend. KARE 11, never a ratings contender, beat longtime competitors WCCO and KSTP within a few years of Magers' arrival. Paul's situation would be hard to replicate elsewhere. And even then could take some time.
Magers tried to negotiate a new contract at KARE. He left there only after Gannett tightened its purse strings.
Brother Ron knew Paul would have a hard time in leaving his Minnesota station after 20 years. He predicted Paul would eventually struggle with "What have I done?" Even after a year and a half, Magers may still be adjusting from leaving his comfortable position.
