this is not meant as a slam, but is money the number one priority? it might be, and nobody should criticize, just be aware and set your priorities... for instance...
what do you love about this business... if you love reporting, take weekend gig because you will have more opportunities to report, plus you could position yourself to be mon-fri fill-in...
if anchoring is your passion, go mornings because you will get a lot more time at the desk...
if both are possible, which shop is better? because trust me, you will much rather go to work in a 70s market if you like the people... even though you might have made a few more bucks in a 40 with jerks... 70s markets travel, they do live shots, you'll be close to big stories... and it's story-telling no matter what the market...
know what you want, and set your path accordingly... and one last thing... money, which was the question... mornings in 70 should be right about the same as weekends in 40... depending on the strength of the 70... big dog #1 and they want tos tay that way? probably a little more bank... maybe.
