Here is a disgusting tidbit from the LA bureau, circa 1982.
The "SNOT HALL OF FAME".
In the very small CNN mens room, while one was using the only urinal, one could not help to notice that some slob was shooting nasty snot balls on the wall. While you were downloading your "number one", you could not help but notice this bit of nastiness. It started off with one or two chunks up there, surronding the urinal, all nose high, directly in front of the "pissie". After a few weeks, the urinal wall had about 10-15 gobs of hard crusty boogers. You would think someone would clean up this disgusting mess. Afterall, the bathroom was used by most everyone: celebrities, management, staff. After about 3 months of accumulating more and more chunks of schnott, someone decided to be funny and try to identify the mad snotter. A felt tip was used and little frames were put around each of the many chunks. One was labelled as belonging to the bureau chief, another belonged to Brian Jenkins, another was "from the nose of Mike Douglas", another was called "Teds snot". Another one named "Dave Gulottis brothers snot" Someone finally got the janitor to clean it up.

The mens room between CNN and Headline News was also disgusting. They made the mistake of painting the walls with a light color, some sort of yellow I think. On the wall in the stall it started out with the usual dirty remarks written in pen and then went to full drawings of naked women and lists of the hottest female employees. It really looked like a truck stop, only lacking the rubber machine. The funny thing was the drawings on the wall were pretty good, obviously done by some of our graphic artists! Finally, they came and painted the walls a very dark color to put an end to it.
