In Reply To: The show hosted by Mike Douglas and Bill Tush was called "People Now". It was not the same show as Showbiz Today. "People Now" was celebrity panel chat; "Showbiz Tonight/Today" was entertainment industry news. Bill Tush hosted the show with Liz Wickersham from New York in the early days. Laurin Sydney and Bella Shaw came along later. Larry King replaced Sandy Freeman in 1985 in the same time slot he occupies today. Sonya Friedman had a morning show. Now: name the CNN manager who once threw a scanner radio against a wall (leaving a permanent divot) and then gleefully stomped up and down on it, smashing the thing to bits. Hint: his son was given a death sentence after being convicted of killing a cop.
Message: You do not mention him. He was the original host of People Now Show in the Sunset Vine Tower. He was a good guy and got toseed when the million dollar Mike Douglas came in with his crap fest of a show. It was funny when the elevator would take people to Simply Blues on the top floor because it would stop on the CNN floor and when the door opened , it would open to the Green Room because they had no place to put a green room. They could see celebrities picking at the fruit and cheeze platter. CNN was so cheap and the place was so small, in fact you could hear the elevator noise during the show.
