You're right about what people say about having worked at CNN. I left around 1988 and got two reactions then:
1. You worked for CNN? Wow, that must have been great.
2. You worked for CNN? Chicken Noodle News? We're looking for people who do broadcast journalism, not VJs!
Now, I get more of #1, having CNN on my resume. In the 80s and 90s, I got #2.
And yes, Amos was nuts. How about Ken Chamberlain? Haven't seen anything about him posted yet. |

I worked at the LA bureau way back in the day. It was fun for awhile. Lunch time was spent drinking beers and eating 25 cent roast beef sandwiches at Simply Blues on the top floor. The anti-union thing was a bit too much to take though. The techs at the time worked for a subcontractor, WOLD communications and were treated like peons by the CNN jergoffs from Atlanta.
