It's an interesting prediction, and interestingly written. It's a bold prediction, going out to 2007. We'll see. I've been in what I believe is the minority; preferring Dan over Peter and Dan, when, of course, all three were in the anchor chair. Plus, I think Dan is very interesting to watch when he's a guest on Larry King
Live. One consideration regarding Dan being the face of CNN if your prediction came true: It seems Klein has dubbed Anderson Cooper as his model for CNN anchordom. I don't know if Dan would have to share the spotlight, instead of being the sole occupier of it. |

The point about Cooper is a good one. But I think CNN will continue to see its audience share erode. Cooper will go down like Aaron Brown. No more than an also ran on basic cable.
Rather would add instant credibility to what has become a sinking ship. He's a name and identity CNN could bank on.
Do you really see a man like Rather staying at CBS? The answer is no. Not after all he accomplished. He won't go to NBC, FNC, or ABC. There's nowhere else for him to go. PBS isn't a viable choice. He'll go to CNN, it'll happen.
