This is the order of hosts for Showbiz Tonight, later Today from the early years(Los Angeles based)
Lee Leonard
Mike Douglas (remember that guy?)
Bill Tush
then they bi-coastal with Lauren Sydney in NYC and Bella Shaw in LA then
Jim Moret and Lauren Sydney with Tush on the weekend show.

The show hosted by Mike Douglas and Bill Tush was called "People Now". It was not the same show as Showbiz Today. "People Now" was celebrity panel chat; "Showbiz Tonight/Today" was entertainment industry news. Bill Tush hosted the show with Liz Wickersham from New York in the early days. Laurin Sydney and Bella Shaw came along later.
Larry King replaced Sandy Freeman in 1985 in the same time slot he occupies today. Sonya Friedman had a morning show.
Now: name the CNN manager who once threw a scanner radio against a wall (leaving a permanent divot) and then gleefully stomped up and down on it, smashing the thing to bits. Hint: his son was given a death sentence after being convicted of killing a cop.
