There's no comparison here, in my opinion. Hemmer's been covering hard news from locations throughout the world for at least the past five years. Roberts was doing WNBA games not too long ago, and is nothing more than a reader on "Good Morning America."
ABC wants to vault Roberts into a leading role, go ahead. Disaster waiting to happen. She's already clowned during Reagan funeral coverage, and dissed the Bush administration during her first post-Inauguration Day appearance on a Sunday morning SportsCenter. No news poker face whatsoever. Roberts makes Judy Woodruff look fair and objective.
At least three-plus more years of a Republican president, and ABC is making Robin Roberts a prominent NEWS face. Only a matter of time before she makes a major mistake.
