In Reply To: In the perfect world, those who have been in the business for 10, 20, 30 years would bring a wealth of information and context. So why is it that in just about every staion I've work for, those who have been in the business for a while are dead weight? In many instances, (not all) they hog their sources, are lazy, not creative and negative. They have so much to offer, but somewhere along the way they've become bitter. What a waste.
Message: of these threads hit the nail on the head. It's not about news; it's about cross promoting what's on your station. It's not about journalists; it's about young kids just agreeing to do whatever idiotic "angle" management orders; without complaint. Ofcourse most of all it's all about money. If you can't make money, you slash so you can save money. That's the reality. The business has gone to hell. But hey it mirrors the rest of American society. Nothing matters; only money. Healthcare for everyone: Forget it costs too much. Lives of our soldiers: Worthless(oil more important so fat piece of shit can fill up his Escalade). Money for education:Forget it; Jets Stadium more important. America has lost it's soul and so has the "news".
