The vast majority of opinions expressed on this site speak negatively of Ann Curry's style. So, how is it that she ends up with a big promotion? Is it a case of someone being "demoted upward" so they can move her off The Today Show?
Or, are most of us really that far out of touch?? |

The reason Curry got the Dateline gig, despite her lousy style, is because she is (a) popular and (b) far better suited to co-hosting Dateline than to her Today duties. Dateline is taped. Curry is worst when she is off script and live. Whether Dateline will retain its odd co-anchor format of the past (with Jane Pauley and Stone Phillips not appearing on camera together) is unknown, but Curry is certainly able to handle doing taped intros and checking in with Katie to see "what's coming up tomorrow on Today."
