Permanence in cable news? That's a knee slapper. CNN has been hemorrhaging talent, now, for years and years, even as they transfused new talent into the pipeline. What makes Hemmer and Woodruff and Blitzer any different? I mean, we're not exactly talking Walter Cronkite or Edward R. Murrow here, nor has this particular frontline team distinguished itself among its competitors as far as viewers are concerned. The television newsroom is not a place for sacred cows that don't milk. Where's the beef?
