I, too, thought your "IS good" post was quite gracious and generous, all too rare on this site. Hemmer is doubtless a pleasant young man.
But a few weeks of reporting for CNN does not make him a talented or experienced reporter. He is neither. And while he may have worked hard on those brief assignments intended to season him a bit, perhaps those short strenuous sprints are precisely the reason he's turning down the chance to work that hard full time.
Not that I blame him. You have to really love reporting to put that kind of energy into it. Most on-air TV people, I've found, would prefer to invest that energy in self-presentation.
