Hey, didn't post the message for people to get snippy, I don't think 9 is a bad product (nor 6 for that matter), but 3 is certainly not a bad product either.
And since you've gone there, WSOC used to win even with the good CBS programming, but now it doesn't, so either SOC doing something wrong (I don't think it necessarily is) or WBTV is doing something right (I think that's the case). And as CBS programming has remained strong, our numbers have gone from pretty low (some nights we'd get one's or two's) to getting 8 or above very consistently. So it's got to be something we're doing, because we've improved as our lead-ins have stayed pretty much the same.
So put that in your pipe and smoke it! :) |

First of all, newzydude, it takes time for lead-in's to kick in and become meaningful. CBS prime took off a few years ago, and the bennies are just starting to kick in for BTV. It happened the same way with NBC stations in the mid 90's. It took a few years of ER and Friends before most NBC stations (that were previously under-performing)started to see the benefits of lead-in. So wake up, newzydude. Also, the main guy just stepped down at SOC. Are you going to tell me that's not having some impact? Also, Charlotte's one of those places where thousands of new Northerners are moving in a year. They bring with them there viewing habits from up north, which are very skewed toward NBC's and CBS's,,,and not toward ABC's.....All of this comes into play before you even think about news product.
