Get rid of the 90-second pop bunch, lure Pat O'Brien over with whatever it takes, tell Conan O'Brien to screw taking over for Leno in five years, he could save CNN mornings at once.
Klein's clever promo campaign:
"O'Brien, O'Brien, O'Brien and O'Brien. One big happy family.
No Donaldson/Sawyer squabbles about top billing here, I tell ya. "I say good morning first, or no deal." They wouldn't do such a thing, because happy families don't squabble about such superficial, ego-based crap.
All together now.
Hemmer did some excellent work during the 2004 presidential campaign/election, in my opinion. You want to improve "American Morning," start with Barbara Starr, who might as well have a "I Hate Rummy" button on her coat.
